Pittsburgh returned home Saturday night looking to finish off a two game sweep of the feisty Columbus Mavericks.  Pittsburgh jumped out early to a 1-0 lead when Nicholas Coppola banged home a loose puck just a little over two minutes into the game with Michael Rocco picking up an assist on the play.  Captain Lucas Kirk would put the Vengeance up 2-0 midway thru the period with assists going to  Coppola and Carter Stensland.  Pittsburgh would outshoot Columbus 17-9 in the first period. Columbus would come out in the second period and control play that would lead to a  goal cutting the deficit to 2-1.  Pittsburgh would score on the power play late in the period as Rocco would convert on a beautiful feed from James Valente with Kirk adding a helper on the play.  The third period would be scoreless to give the Vengeance a 3-1 victory.  Josh Ferry would stop 30 out of 31 in net for the the win to up his record to 8-0 on the year.  Pittsburgh would hold a 32-31 shot advantage in this tightly contested battle.  "I thought we played a pretty solid first period but they outworked  in the second and third periods," said General Manger David Dorsey after the game. "Ferry was solid in goal but we need to be better as a group,' added Dorsey.

Pittsburgh will travel to Erie on Tuesday & Wednesday next week to take on two of the top teams in the league in the Metro Jets and MJDP.
