The Pittsburgh Vengeance returned to home ice for their only game of the weekend versus the Lake Erie Bighorns. Pittsburgh would host the Bighorns in a Sunday morning affair at the Alpha Ice Complex. Pittsburgh would come out determined in the first period but the game would remain scoreless after one period. Pittsburgh would outshoot Lake Erie 19-4 in the first period. Nick Ventura would score early in the second period on beautiful pass from Tyson Springer to put the Vengeance up 1-0. The score would remain 1-0 Vengeance after two periods despite outshooting Lake Erie 14-4. The score would remain 1-0 until 7 minutes remaining in the third period when the Bighorns would tie it at 1-1 off a face off. Pittsburgh  struck back just 17 seconds later as Ryan Miller converted a Lucas Kirk pass to make it 2-1 Vengeance. Miller would covert again late on a beautiful Ventura pass to give the Vengeance a 3-1 victory. Vengeance  outshot Lake Erie 13-3 in the third and 46-11 for the game. Ross Jones would stop 10 out of 11 in goal for Pittsburgh for the win. “We played too much on the perimeter for most of the game and you can’t give up a goal late on a defensive zone draw,” said Head Coach Berkstresser after the game.
Pittsburgh will travel next Saturday to take on the Buffalo Thunder before hosting them on Sunday  at the Alpha Ice Complex.
