The yFlint Junior Generals had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Pittsburgh Vengeance.
The Junior Generals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pittsburgh to score on any of its three power plays. yFlint\’s offense rang up 32 shots on the Vengeance\’s net.
yFlint also had goals scored by Zach Koonce, Conor Durgan, and Ryan Burr, who scored one goal each. In addition, yFlint received assists from Andrew Bellant, Oliver Lindstrom, Brit Brothen, and Brett Leppek, who contributed one a piece.
Pittsburgh was held below its usual level of production. The Vengeance average 3.3 goals per game. Pittsburgh found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against the Junior Generals\’ defense.
yFlint\’s Anders Franke stopped 14 shots out of the 14 that he faced. The Junior Generals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Chase Stanford rejected 28 shots on goal for the Vengeance. Pittsburgh incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
