West beats East 9-1 as Miska gets hat trick

East could not stop West\’s Calvin Miska, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-1 win.

Miska notched his first tally 6:16 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:13 into the third and at 15:13 into the third.

West made East\’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 36 shots and forcing 27 saves. Walker Bass made 10 stops and Anders Franke made 17.

West also got points from Jake Mullendore, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Joe Anderson, who also had two goals and one assist, and Jace Childs, who also registered two goals and two assists. Richie Marenis also scored for West. In addition, West received assists from Isaac Hale, Tim Santopoalo, and Morgan Martelle, who contributed one a piece and Ian Ecklund and Christian Mohs, who each chipped in three.

East did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. East averages 3.5 goals per game.

East was led by Zach Armstrong, who scored the team\’s only goal. Armstrong scored 1:29 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Carter Reid assisted on the tally.

West\’s Austin Wilson stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. West incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. East incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
