The Vengeance traveled to Blaine, MN for the NA3HL Showcase December 17-19. The faced off against the Peoria Mustangs, New England Stars, and La Crosse Freeze, winning all three games and outscoring their opponents 13-5.
Pittsburgh returned from Christmas break with a home-and-home series against the Southern Tier Xpress. Vengeance captain Austin Martz was recalled to the Philadelphia Rebels, and Pittsburgh struggled through the opening periods to find their rhythm. However, they battled back in the third and rode that momentum through the win in the Saturday rematch.
Entering their series with the Lansing Wolves, Pittsburgh had won eleven straight games. The Wolves came out hot, and proved to be more than the Vengeance could handle over both games. Despite a better Sunday effort, Pittsburgh was outscored 6-2 on the weekend.
The Vengeance struggles continued Saturday against Northeast Division Binghamton, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening game, before heading back to the hotel 6-1 victors. Pittsburgh responded in Sunday's rematch with a much better team effort, maintaining solid pressure throughout while being backstopped by an incredible Tyler Hawk effort. Polster and Glavach scored during regulation, and Glavach added the winner in the shootout for the Vengeance's first win in three weeks.
