Vengeance Get Much needed Home Victories

On Saturday, the Vengeance were led by a solid performance in net by John O’Brien, who was tested throughout the game and stood tall. Although the score wasn’t an indication of the play, the Vengeance came away with a 7-3 victory. 2 goal games by Captain Nico Vecchio and Chase Leonelli led the way for the Vengeance as well as strong defensive performances by Mike Straub and Brook Antill.

No less than 7 Vengeance players had multiple point games, including Alex Berardinelli, with one goal and 2 assists. Special teams played a big role in the victory as TRV were 4 for 8 on the PP and 7 of 8 on the PK. Things were a little testy though out the game as the addition of former player Cory Myers was a welcomed addition to the mix.

On Sunday, the Mt. Cats picked up where they left off on Saturday and put the Vengeance on their heels. Veteran goalie Tyler Stepke was more than up to the challenge as he not only earned the shutout but made may key saves that allowed the Vengeance time to break through and earn a 6-0 victory.

Vengeance again controlled the special teams going 3-10 on the PP and a perfect 7-7 on the PK.  Vecchio led the way with Tyler Berry adding 2 goals while Vinny Susi led the team in Defense.

For his outstanding weekend performance, Captain Nico Vecchio showed why he was selected as the NA3HL’s number 1 Star of the Week (clich HERE for that story)  Nico contributed 6 points during the weekend game set and could have added more if not for some solid Mt. Cats goal tendin.
