U18 Vengeance fall in College Cup Quarters

The U18 Pittsburgh Vengeance traveled to Guilford, CT last weekend to participate in the East Coast Classic Tournaments College Cup.

The Vengeance began the showcase Friday night against the Mercer Chiefs, beating the New Jersey team 4-2. Round robin play continued Saturday morning as the Vengeance took on the Jersey Shore Whalers. Once again, Pittsburgh came out 4-2 victors.

Pittsburgh wrapped up their opening round slate Saturday night as the Vengeance skated to  a 3-3 draw with the Rochester Grizzlies. The 2-0-1 record was good enough for 2nd place in the Ovechkin division, earning them a seed in the tournament playoffs.

The Vengeance drew the Elite Hockey Academy (CT) for their quarterfinal matchup.  The teams skated three full periods and an overtime session without either side scoring a goal. Despite stellar goaltending from Kaden Mahsoob throughout the game,  Pittsburgh was handed a 1-0 loss after a shootout.  The Little Islanders (MA) were eventually crowned U18 White Division champions.

The U18 Vengeance hit the road again this weekend to take on Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, OH for two games.
