Head Coach John Zeiler
John Zeiler lives in Jefferson Hills, PA. John attended Thomas Jefferson High School, winning three state championships. Zeiler went on to play two seasons in the USHL for the Sioux City Musketeers, winning the Clark Cup national trophy his second season. After being drafted 132nd overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Zieler attended NCAA D1 St Lawrence University for 4 sesasons, accumulating 123 points in 144 games. After college, John played 5 seasons with the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL and with the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. He then spent 4 seasons overseas with the DEL in Germany. John began coaching with the Penguins Elite 2007 team as an assistant, and is excited to join the Pittsburgh Vengeance organization as the head coach of the U16 AAA team. John is passionate about the game of hockey and looks forward to passing that along to his players this coming season. John is also available for on-ice private and small group lessons.
Brian Gierczynski is a Pittsburgh native. He grew up playing in the Hornets organization before lacing up for Baldwin High School, where he was a 4 year Varsity letterman and a 2 time SHIHL AAA All Star. He has played hockey all over North America as well as a stint in Omsk, Russia. Prior to joining Vengeance, Brian was Head Coach of the U14 BY AA team with the Steel City Ice Renegades, and has previously coached Pine-Richland High School's Junior Varsity team and the Vengeance U16 Spring Program.
Brian is also a co-founder of the International Dryland Academy, which is a non-profit organization specializing in off-ice hockey training and the introduction of hockey to inner-city children.
