Tyler Hawk came up big, stopping 32 of 33 shots throughout the game. The Pittsburgh Vengeance took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Thomas Polster.
In the third period, Glavach opened the scoring for Pittsburgh with a goal at 0:38 with an assist from his linemate Friedman. Polster deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:33 with a helper from his teammate Erker. Payne finally put Southern Tier on the board with a goal at 13:18 with an assist from Paar.
The Vengeance’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hawk’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced. On the other hand, Hawk’s counterpart, Pascarella, and the Xpress’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 24 of 26 shots.
This win brings the Pittsburgh Vengeance’s record to (3-2-0-0).
