Taking time out for work…

Kevin Morrison, Owner and Operator of the Pittsburgh Jr Penguins takes pride in other business he is doing in the hockey community.  Attached, you\’ll find an article posted in the Beaver County Times highlighting work being done by his appliqué shop, Signature Flags. They recently completed the newest banners that will hang from the rafters of Mellon Arena where the NHL Penguins compete.

Signature Flags has been making the NHL Penguins banners for years including Mario\’s Retirement Banner and all the teams MVP, Scoring Leaders and Conference Championship and Stanley Cup Banners.  They also  provide the NHL Players jerseys and other garb for the big Club and their players.  And recently, Signature Flags prepared NHL Penguin jerseys for all of the diplomats attending the G20 Summit while meeting in Pittsburgh.

With most of the Signature Flags customer base being hockey clubs, it\’s easy to see why Kevin is so involved in the game.  In addition to his Junior Penguins operating five teams including one at Tier I U16 along with a Jr C team plus two teams at the Jr B level and a team at Tier II Jr A, he operates his Signature Flags wholesale outlet and a retail shop (Pittsburgh Teamwear).

This Friday, local Fox Sports Network will run a feature story on the making of the banner by Signature Flags during the game broadcast.  The staff is proud to be a part of the game day ceremonies.

Together Signature Flags and Pittsburgh Teamwear are providing area sports teams with the stuff that matters, their team jerseys and other game day apparel.  Kevin along with his business partner, Mark Somma who has a couple sons still playing hockey (one with Ohio State and another with the Jr Penguins CSHL Jr A team) play a significant role in the preparation of materials for the local teams.

Some of their customer base is also spread throughout the Junior hockey community from Florida to New Jersey and throughout PA and OH.  They specialize in team jersey appliqué (names, numbers and logos), but also supply a full line of other team apparel and some hard goods.  In addition to all the local business they do, they also service Jr teams competing in the CSHL, Empire Jr B and the CHA Jr Premier and Selects Leagues.
