Season Ends Abruptly

The Vengeance season ended sadly with back to back losses against their rival, the Jr Jacks Saturday night in Cleveland.  The final game was close, but the Vengeance came up a goal short in a 2-1 contest.

Pittsburgh battled Cleveland all season long fighting to gain home ice advantage in their final season game.  That edge ultimately went to the Lumberjacks forcing Pittsburgh on the road for their final game.

With 48 regular season games in the books, the Vengeance found themselves on the winning side more than 60% of the time and finished the season 25 – 15 – 8.  They won games against every team they faced except two.  With a slow start winning only 3 of their first 9 games, the guys picked up the pace in October and finished strong especially down the stretch winning 12 of their last 17.

The team was well represented at the NA3HL’s Top Prospects Tournament and a few earned top honors as NA3HL Players of the Week.  With one of the younger teams in the League we’ll only have a few players aging out.  Next year looks to be very interesting for Coach Dorsey and his staff.

Congratulations go to the players and staff for another season of hard work on Pittsburgh’s only Jr program team.  They represented the Club well and we wish them the best in the upcoming NAHL draft or wherever their game takes them at the collegiate level.

Special thanks go out to all the fans and staff that contributed to and continue to support the Kenny Strong Fund, especially his teammates.
