Pittsburgh welcomed the Wooster Oilers Saturday night to the Alpha Ice Complex for the start of a home and home series between the two clubs.The Vengeance struck first late in the opening frame on a goal by Connor Ackerman, with helpers going to Gavin Cummings and Vincent Casale. The middle period looked like it was going to be a scoreless affair until Ackerman added his second of the night on an individual shorthanded effort with four seconds left to push the Vengeance lead to 2-0 after two periods of play. Ryker Barber scored 5:39 into the third to put the Vengeance up 3-0 on another unassisted goal. Wooster answered quickly, scoring twice in the following four minutes to cut the deficit to 3-2. Marcus Gloss stood on his head to preserve the game, stopping 42 out of 44 total shots as the Vengeance held on for a 3-2 victory.
