Pittsburgh falls to Southern Tier in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Southern Tier Xpress\’ Curtis Carlson scored one second1 seconds into overtime to beat the Pittsburgh Vengeance, 5-4 (OT).

Southern Tier overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Xpress trailed 4-2 after a goal by Pittsburgh\’s Parker Henry at 2:20 in the third period. Southern Tier tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Aleksandr Koshelev at 11:24 in the third period.

The Xpress kept the Vengeance\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Kevin OShea made 28 saves on 33 shots.

Southern Tier was led by Cody Maulsby, who registered one goal and two assists. Maulsby scored 1:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Southern Tier. Addison Collins picked up the assist. Southern Tier also got points from Carlson, who also had one goal and one assist and Owen Harris, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brandon Desrosiers also scored for Southern Tier. In addition, Southern Tier received assists from Alec Hooper, Jamie Collins, Branden Walsh, Niko Greco, and Victor Mccutcheon, who each chipped in one.

Pittsburgh was led by Cody Black, who finished with one goal and two assists. Black scored 10:09 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Southern Tier. Christian Wilson provided the assist. Pittsburgh additionally got points from Nils Markgren, who also registered one goal and one assist. Pittsburgh also got a goal from Eli Lynn as well. More assists for Pittsburgh came via Dominick Glavach, who had one and Gavin Cummings, who had two.

Tyler Geloneck rejected 23 shots on goal for the Xpress. Southern Tier totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Vengeance incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
