Pittsburgh downs Toledo in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Pittsburgh Vengeance pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Toledo Cherokee on a clutch goal by Nils Markgren.

Eli Lynn had one goal and two assists to lead Pittsburgh. Lynn scored 59 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pittsburgh. Tyler Speis provided the assist.

Pittsburgh additionally got points from Speis, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Leo Blore and Bryan Hovanec, who each chipped in one.

Toledo stifled the Vengeance\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Cherokee were led by Brody Duncan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Duncan scored 19:28 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Zalecki assisted on the tally. Toledo also got a goal from Zach Swanson as well. More assists for Toledo came via Cam Schwartz and Cody Estrel, who contributed one each.

Pittsburgh\’s Brian Baker stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Vengeance incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Glen Bates made 20 saves for Toledo on 23 shots. The Cherokee incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
