John Zeiler, a Pittsburgh native, lives in Jefferson Hills, PA. John attended Thomas Jefferson High School and won three state championships during that time. He then played juniors for the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL for 2 seasons and won the Clark Cup national trophy his second season. John Zeiler was drafted 132nd overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He later attended St Lawrence University on a Division 1 full scholarship for 4 seasons. After college, John played professionally for 9 years, 5 of the seasons with the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL and with the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. The next 4 seasons he played in the DEL overseas in Germany. John recently was an assistant coach for the Penguins Elite 2007 team before joining the Pittsburgh Vengeance as the head coach of the U16 AAA team. He's looking forward to returning to working with a younger age group for this season, hoping to build a Pittsburgh Hockey Powerhouse. John is passionate about his love of hockey and looks forward to passing that along to his players this coming season. John is also available for on-ice private and small group lessons.
