North Iowa uses early goal to top St. Louis, 2-0

The North Iowa Bulls took the lead against the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory.

Colton Budreau provided North Iowa with the game-winning tally when he scored 3:56 into the first period. Ryan Durant assisted on the tally.

The Bulls were paced by Budreau, who had one goal.

North Iowa stifled St. Louis\’ power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulls\’ defensive play was more effective than usual against the Jr. Blues. North Iowa allows 2.3 goals per game. St. Louis was unable to stop the Bulls from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

North Iowa also got a goal from Killian Gray as well. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Logan Murphy, who had one.

The Jr. Blues were held below their usual level of production. St. Louis puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

David Johnson recorded 20 saves for the Bulls. North Iowa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cooper Cothran rejected 34 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
