New Recruits

The 2014 3HL Draft was a huge success for the Pittsburgh Vengeance landing 16 prospects and a 17th player in a draft-day trade with Breezy Point. With a solid crop of savvy returning veterans including a couple 3HL Top Prospects, Coach Dorsey is looking to solidify the lineup for the new season from his pool of new recruits.  Below is a recap of Pittsburgh's Draft along with Coach Dorsey’s brief comments about each of his selections:


Joshua Butterworth, (96) Forward, Greensboro Stars: huge upside, great work ethic and solid player in all three zones.

Dom Prosser (96) Goalie, Pens Elite: talented young goalie that could play at a higher level.

Richie Doherty (96) Defense, Belle Tire Selects: defensive defensemen that needs polished, but great attitude and work ethic.

Brendan Horgas (97) Defense, Mid State Mustangs: huge upside in his game and a complete player.

Anthony Parrucci (95) Forward, Pens Elite: Tendered by Michigan in NAHL, local kid that wants to play at the highest level.

Jake Salak (95) Forward, Bethel Park: really came on at last camp and could be a real surprise player for us.

Eriq Schau (98) Forward, Renegades: young and determined plus a strong will to succeed.

Trevor Micucci (97) Goalie, Jr Sabres U16, USHL draft pick and a big goalie that moves well for a young kid.

Chris Harvey (97) Forward, Lewport High School: huge upside, defensively responsible and plays well in traffic for a young kid.

Nathaniel Schwartz (97) Forward, Great Lakes: young kid with a lot of offensive potential.

Jonathan Fair (97) Defense, Butler: gifted young player that needs to be pushed but has huge upside.

Connor Scott (97) Forward, Butler: solid all-around hockey player with a high hockey IQ that needs pushed.

Alex Kalau (96) Forward, Ducks U18: complete hockey player.

Devin Dezarn Sroka (96) Forward, Seneca Valley: was drafted because of his great tryout camp, always around the puck.

Darrien Dezarn Sroka (96) Forward, Seneca Valley: hard work and a great showing at the tryout camp got him drafted.

Nick Lupaccino (95) Forward, Frederick Freeze: grinder type that works hard on and off the ice that needs pushed.


Tendered players and other prospects


Christian Wilson (97) Forward, Pittsburgh Selects: very good shot and physical player.

Yevgenly Gladkiy (97) Defense, Cleveland Alliance: talented young defensemen who skates and sees the ice real well.

Troy Double (96) Forward, Butler: gifted offensive player that's always around the puck.

Kenny White (98) Defense, Pittsburgh Selects: young talented player that has poise with the puck and huge upside in his game.

Marcus McCall (97) Defense. Butler: solid skater and tough young kid.

The Vengeance Final Tryout Camp is scheduled for August 1, 2 & 3.  Player Contracts may be offered prior to the Final Camp, but certainly by the end of the Final Camp with players typically reporting by mid- August.
