Nashville downs Point Mallard, 2-1

Colton Anderson registered one point to lead the Nashville Jr. Predators to a 2-1 victory over the Point Mallard Ducks.

Nashville was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Predators put an average of 5.6 pucks into the net per game. Point Mallard was unable to stop Nashville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Predators eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Nashville also got a goal from Nathaniel Chiarizzio as well. In addition, Nashville received assists from Noah Keener, who had one.

The Ducks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nashville to score on any of its five power plays. Point Mallard\’s offense operated below its season average. The Ducks average 3.8 goals per game.

Point Mallard was led by Grant Dukus, who scored the team\’s only goal. Dukus scored on the power play 17:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Ducks had taken the advantage when the Jr. Predators\’ Nicholas Redmon got sent off for charging. Noah Gilreath assisted on the tally.

Nashville\’s Justin Ball stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Jr. Predators incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cooper Seedott rejected 36 shots on goal for Point Mallard. The Ducks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
