Junior A Pens split with Queen City Steam

The Junior A Pens continued their up and down play this past weekend with a split versus the Queen City Steam.  In Saturday\’s game the Pens came out strong in the first, but it was Queen City that capitalized on a defensive breakdown for a 1-0 lead after one.  The Pens tied it at one on a great individual effort by Chaten Boscha, but Queen City scored twice to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. The Junior A Pens were held to just four shots in the third and the Steam added a empty netter for a 4-1 final. \” We had nothing to offer tonight after the initial period and they beat us to every loose puck and won all the battles.  We got exactly what we deserved tonight with the effort we had and they earned a victory because of  the hard work they put in at both ends of the rink, \” said Coach Dorsey.

The Junior Pens rebounded Sunday with a solid effort and a 4-1 victory.  \” We competed harder today and did not have as many defensive lapses.  When you work hard and play as a team you generally get rewarded with a victory, \” said Coach Dorsey.  The Junior A Pens are off this weekend and are back at home next weekend versus the Toledo Cherokee.
