Junior A Pens split again

The Junior A Penguins woes continued this weekend as they split with the Flint Generals.  The Pens ended a streak of Saturday losses and started a new one on Sunday.  The Pens won on Saturday 7-0 and lost on Sunday 4-2.  \” The Flint team and their staff should be proud the way their guys bounced back from Saturdays loss.  They were the team that wanted it more on Sunday and it was evident by the way they outworked us in the third period.  We took two selfish penalties in the third and they played their most disciplined period of the weekend.  Our power play was 2 for 18 on the weekend and we gave up numerous odd man breaks.

We have officially hit rock bottom but I am sure that it is going to get uglier in Dubuque and St. Louis, \” said Coach Dorsey.  The Pittsburgh Junior A Penguins will call up Ben Hanus from the Empire team to go on the road versus Dubuque. \” We are going to give the kid a shot because he has earned it with his play in the Empire League.  I am going to find a lineup of twenty players that want to do well for each other and ride with it.  The hard part is going to be finding twenty because I am not so sure we have that many willing to do what it takes.  Adversity is a great thing in sports and life because it makes you find out what type of person you really are, \” added Coach Dorsey.
