Junior A Pens acquire Goz & Finnerty from Quad City

The Pittsburgh Junior A Penguins announced today the acquisition of two players from the Quad City Jr Flames.  Shamus Finnerty, an 89 birth year forward from Michigan and Balasz Goz, a 92 birth year defensemen from Hungary.  Finnerty will wear number 12 and Goz number 27 for the Penguins.  \” Finnerty gives us a veteran that we needed and somebody that can potentially help us in the stretch drive.  He has a real good shot and is a nice skater.  Goz is a young defensemen that has nice size and if he works on a few things in his game, he could be a valuable player for us in the future, \” said Coach Dorsey.

The trade also gives the Junior A Penguins much needed depth due to injuries and recent player releases.  The Penguins will also have 90 birth year forward Dylan Trombetta back in the lineup this weekend. \” Trombetta is a top ten forward in the CSHL and gives us another scoring threat up front, \” said Coach Dorsey.  The Pens take on the Toledo Cherokee this weekend at the Blade Runners in Harmarville, Pa.  The game times are Saturday at 6:30 pm and Sunday at noon.
