Jr Pens Bounce Back

After struggling to score goals a week ago, the Jr Pens come back to form taking three of four games this past weekend.  The Jr A team hit the pavement and headed to Quad City in Davenport, IA.  There, they split with the Flames losing the first game Saturday night 6-5 but pulled out the victory on Sunday 6-4.

Meanwhile, the CHA Potomac Patriots (formerly the VA Express) travelled north to play the Jr B’s.  In that two game set, the Penguins dominated the scoreboard winning both games and bringing the Jr B Pens back to their comfort zone which is scoring goals.  When the dust settled on the weekend, both the Jr Penguin teams added to their point totals in the standings.

For the moment, both teams are maintaining a safe position in the standings.  In the next few weeks, they’ll need to step it up if they want to be an impact team in League play.  Overall, the Jr A Penguins are 6-4 while the B’s are 6-2.

Both teams are off next weekend.   The time off will give the guys a chance to heal up before they go right at it again.  Both see action again the weekend of Oct 16 & 17 when the Jr B’s travel next to Buffalo to face off against the Stars while the Jr A team will host the Chicago Hitmen.
