After just 9 games, the Jr A and Jr B Penguins combined for a 7-2 record. However, what is impressive is their knack for scoring goals. In those nine games, the two teams combined for 64 goals on more than 400 shots. The teams are scoring at a torrid pace averaging seven goal a game while pelting the net on a regular basis.
Although it’s very early in the season, the club hopes the scoring trend continues. Upcoming games this weekend against the Fighting Moose out of Brooklyn who’s always a formidable foe in the CHA and the CSHL’s best, the St. Louis Blue Notes are likely to slow the Jr Penguins scoring attack down. This weekend will prove to be a real test for the Pittsburgh Jr Program teams.
It’ll take more than shots on net to get by these two teams. Both have finished at or near the top of their Leagues standings for a long stretch of seasons and this year should be no different. Strong defense and quality goal tending on the part of the Jr Pens are a must this weekend.
You can follow both Jr Penguin teams’ results on Point Streak throughout the season and all their home Saturday and Sunday night games are scheduled to be broadcast via Fast Hockey, the premier online destination for streaming video of amateur hockey games around the world.
