Pittsburgh Jr B Penguins – 9
Brewster Bulldogs – 2
After an extremely successful camp and numerous hours of grueling practices,
coach Brian Cersosimo and 'the boys' proved to be more than ready to drop the
puck on the 2010/11 season.
Brett started off the scoring for the Pens by burying the puck behind the stunned Bulldog net-minder Alidadi, just 44 seconds into the game. McKown and Leonelli had the assist. The Pens added one more tally in the first form Straub at the 15:42 mark, Leonelli had the assist. The Pens out-shot the Bulldogs 11-9 in the first.
The second started off even faster than the first did with Nehnevajsa finding Berardinelli just 30 seconds in to give the Pens a 3-0 lead. McNulty added a fourth goal a little over 3 minutes later with a beautiful feed from Parise. This sent The Bulldog net-minder to an early shower.
The net-minder change seemed to give the Bulldogs the spark they were looking for
when Boudiette fired a shot off of the leg pad of the Pens net-minder Allen and Santini buried the rebound to finally get on the board at the 9:12 mark of the second period. Hovanec then took matters into his own hands scoring an unassisted goal at 15:10. Alexander scored the last Bulldog tally of the night 1 minute 8 seconds later from Barnes and Santini.
