Jr A Pens SWEEP Flint

The Junior A Pens went on the road again to Flint and completed a two game sweep of the Jr. Generals.  The Pens defeated Flint on Saturday by a score of 3-2 behind the excellent goaltending of Collin LeMay.  \” LeMay stole us this game because we got outplayed by Flint the entire game.  There are no excuses at this time of the season to give an effort like we gave today.  There are some guys that I think forgot this game was scheduled because they mailed it in, \” said Coach Dorsey.

On Sunday, the Pens came out with a better effort resulting in a 4-2 victory.  Vince Somma had 4 goals and Anthony Sweet rebounded from a shaky first goal to post the victory.  \” Vince should be the poster child for what you can accomplish as a player if you listen and work hard.  He has earned everything that he has gotten.  Ryan Kumpfmiller and Mikael Lemieux had a very good weekend for us in both ends of the rink.  I thought Nick Persichetti played one of his better games on Saturday and Ed Barca gave us a lot of good minutes on Sunday.  The power play was good as both units moved the puck real well, \” added Coach Dorsey.

The Junior Penguins will host the Cleveland Lumberjacks this weekend in a series that could determine 3rd place in the CSHL.
