Jr A Pens go undefeated in 3

The Junior A Pens went on the road for a three game set starting in Toledo and ending up in Motor City. \” Anytime you go on the road in this league and get a victory it is huge, \” said Coach Dorsey.  The Junior A Pens started in Toledo for a two game set.  The games were tough and closely contested with the Pens prevailing in both by the scores of 4-1 and 2-1.

\” We got great goaltending in both games of the Toledo series by Collin LeMay and Anthony Sweet.  I thought our third and fourth lines continued to do an excellent job and are starting to give us real quality minutes by competing hard.  Charles Gallagher got rewarded by scoring the game winner on the power play in the second game, \” said Coach Dorsey.

The Junior A Pens then travelled on Sunday morning to play the Motor City Chiefs.  They defeated the Chiefs 5-1 behind a Kyle Rosendale hat trick.  \” We started out real slow and then Rosey (Kyle Rosendale) scored a big shorthanded goal that got us going.  We need to pick it up on the forecheck and power play if we want to compete at a high level in this league,  \” stated Coach Dorsey.

The Junior A Pens travel to Quad City, Iowa for the CSHL Showcase this weekend. They will take on the number one ranked St. Louis Junior Blues and the Peoria Mustangs each twice.  \” This is going to show us where we stand because St. Louis is the best team in the CSHL and Peoria is getting better every week, \” added Coach Dorsey.   You can view the games online at YouCastr.
