Jr A Penguins former Goalie Collin LeMay (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) made his way to the USHL Dubuque Fighting Saints posting a shutout win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. In his USHL debut, Collin stopped all 19 shots that came his way posting a 3-0 shutout (complete story here).
In his two seasons with the Jr Penguins, Collin was one of the top Goalies in the 3HL winning 39 regular season games with .913% in saves over two seasons and two trips to the League’s All-Star event.
Through perseverance, Collin fought off some tough times after being tendered by the NAHL’s Chicago Hitmen in 2010 and learning that the NAHL Tornado made a coaching change shortly after they drafted him there at the end of last season.
After returning to Pittsburgh and with the Jr Penguins having already committed to their goalies for the new season, Collin was traded to the 3HL’s Quad City Flames where he continued to impress. From there, LeMay held a spot as an emergency goalie for Fighting Saints before being inserted into the lineup last weekend.
Best of luck to Collin LeMay from his Jr A Penguin family.
