In addition, the Pittsburgh Vengeance's offense had a big night, peppering the PowerHawks with 46 shots throughout the game. The Pittsburgh Vengeance took the lead early in the second on a goal from James Unger.
Dominick Glavach delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jacob Friedman did his part, adding 2 assists. Mitchell Thornton contributed with 2 goals and Matt Cavanaugh chipped in with 2 assists.
In the first, Hrynczak opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 1:48 with a helper from Olszewski. Erker answered for the Vengeance with a goal at 4:12 with helpers from his linemates, Martz and Friedman. Erker quickly followed with a goal at 4:32. Glavach scored a goal at 12:16.
In the second, Unger netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:19 with assists from his teammates Mezsargs and Jenkins. Martz put in a goal at 4:59 with helpers from Soderberg and Glavach. Erker deposited a goal at 10:48 with an assist from fellow Vengeance forward Martz.
During the third period, Thornton answered for the PowerHawks with a goal at 8:01 with helpers from Minichiello and Cavanaugh. Thornton netted a goal at 11:07 with assists from Minichiello and Cavanaugh. Erker quickly followed with a goal at 11:41 with helpers from his linemates, Friedman and Martz.
Pittsburgh's victory was in no doubt helped out by Shell as he stopped 10 of the 13 shots he faced. Shell's counterpart, Augustine, also had a big night, managing to stop 17 of 21, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Pittsburgh Vengeance's record to (21-6-0-0).
