Chicago rips Battle Creek, 7-4

The Battle Creek Revolution had trouble finding ways to stop the Chicago Junior Bulldogs, which beat Revolution, 7-4.

Matt Kostopoulos had two goals and one assist to lead Chicago. Kostopoulos scored the first of his two goals at 1:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Others who scored for Chicago included Vince Bartkowiak and Joey Mavrin, who each put in one. More assists for Chicago came via Luke Morin, who had three and Matt Blaszkiewicz and Jeremy Szczurek, who each chipped in one.

Battle Creek\’s offense rang up 34 shots on the Junior Bulldogs\’ net. The Revolution surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Battle Creek has scored at the pace of 1.1 goal per game during the current campaign.

The Revolution were led by Austin Hill, who tallied two goals and one assist. Hill scored the first of his two goals at 17:11 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Chicago. Andy Metzler assisted on the tally. Hill\’s next tally made the score 6-3 Chicago with 1:20 left in the second period. Justin Toye provided the assist. Battle Creek additionally got points from Metzler, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alex Olsen also scored for Battle Creek.
