The Pittsburgh Vengeance are proud to announce that 20-year-old Cody Black has committed to play his college hockey in Athens, Ohio for the Ohio University Bobcats. The Cranberry Township native, was the East Division MVP and a All NA3HL Second Team selection. "In the two years that Cody spent here he was able to accomplish a lot and we are very proud that he's found a great home for the next four years," said Coach Dorsey.
Black, posted 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points in his second season after putting up 19 goals and 20 assists his rookie year. "Cody played both ends of the ice equally well and was constantly working at his game to get better," added Dorsey. "Cody's rapid improvement in such a short amount of time is a testament to the work he put in both on and off the ice," stated Dorsey.
The Ohio University Bobcats are an ACHA Division I Club in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League. The CSCHL iincludes Lindenwood University, Robert Morris-Illinois, Iowa State University and the University of Ilinois. The Bobcats finished the season last year with a 10-4-2-2 records just behind Linwood Ubiversity.
Cody will join other former Jr Penguin / Vengeance players including Ryan Heltion, Mike Kretz, Nathan DeLaTorre and Logan Pfeffer playing for Coach Sean Hogan at Ohio U.
