The Pittsburgh Vengeance are proud to announce that six of their players have been selected by the NA3HL to participate in the Top Prospects event in Ann Arbor, Michigan, February 23-24.

The forwards selected were Cody Black and Eli Lynn while Gavin Cummings and team Captain Michael Straub were selected on defense.  Brian Baker will tend goal representing the East Squad.  Additionally, 98 born defenseman Kenny White was named to the U18 Select team.

The U18 Select team is made up of the top young prospects in the NA3HL.  "The players named to the two NA3HL Top Prospect Team events are the core of our Vengeance team and the organization is very happy for all of them," said Coach Dorsey.  "There are a few others that could have made it but the selection process calls for a limited number of players, " stated Dorsey.  "Kenny White will be the youngest player in the Top Prospects game which gives him a real chance to showcase his ability," added Dorsey.

Regarding the team in general, they have been focusing on honing their skills while being challenged each week against the very competitive teams in the NS3HL’s Eastern Division.

Having won five of their last seven games, the Vengeance are currently holding onto the top spot in the Eastern Division.  However, only five points separate the top three teams with everyone battling each other over the next four weeks.  The playoff race is on as the teams will be working hard throughout February to position themselves for final seeding.

The Vengeance are hoping to continue their solid defensive performance with strong net minding and high caliber special teams play.  The Forwards are clicking and injuries throughout the season have proven to benefit several players with added ice time that has afforded them the opportunity to further develop so they are more than capable of stepping up to the challenge each new weekend.

Next up for the Vengeance is a three-game road trip starting this weekend with two against the Southern Tier Xpress on Friday and Saturday night finishing up in Cleveland against the Jr Lumberjacks on Sunday who are always tough at home.  The Vengeance will play their next seven games on the road before finishing up at home for a weekend set the final week of the season.
